Hello all and happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I wanted to share a little painting I did today that I will connect to Paint Party Friday and Illustration Friday challenges. This piece is really small, only 2"x3" on a little piece of wood. I wanted to try something really simple and a little silly. That's all for now.
Keep creating! Hello all! I've been happily and busily working away. One of my projects, which I'm hoping to share some sneak peaks soon, is a wedding commission for one of my besties. This will be one of the largest pieces I've done to date at 20"x20"! I'm really loving how it's going so far, so I'm looking forward to finishing it soon. I made some new ACEOs over the weekend that I wanted to share with you that I think are really cute! They are also available in my online shop right now! I created these lovely ladies with copic markers and pens. I haven't used my markers in a bit, so had forgotten how much I enjoy working with them! I created them on smooth bristol paper and glued them to pattern paper for a little extra sturdiness. I'd love to hear what you think about them and any thoughts of color combinations you might like to see.
Have a wonderful day everyone and don't forget to keep creating! Hello all! I hope that your weekend was full and peaceful. I wanted to share one of my most recent pieces that I'm excited about. I really love how she came out! She's a mix of papers, stamping, and acrylic paint on watercolor paper. If you like her, you can find prints in my shop right now!
Ladies, if you don't have a pair of red shoes, you need to go out and get a pair right now! Lol. Have a lovely day! Hello everyone. Today I am sharing part 2 of my interview with Carla Kimball. You will not want to miss it! So come back to hear his story on Friday, October 11, 2013. Hello all! I know 2 posts in one day. What was I thinking?! Lol. I just realized that I haven't shared any of my art with you in awhile (shame on me!). I've been working though, painting and drawing, and sometimes hiding from the canvas. I want to get more into a regular routine of posting, not only to share with you, but to keep myself accountable and to work my way into a routine of creating more consistently. I thought a great way for me to do that was to connect with some of the art challenges. Since I've been painting more, I decided join the Paint Party Friday challenge. It seems fun and really simple to participate in. Here is my contribution for today. I created this piece for my parents wedding anniversary this month. It's full of yummy acrylic paint, paper, stamping, pen and even some rub-ons! I had a lot of fun experimenting with the fall colors. Love you mom and dad!! :)
I definitely encourage you to join a weekly challenge if you are looking for a way to help you get into more a routine and to connect with other artists! Happy Friday :) Hello everyone. I’m excited to present part 1 of my interview with Carla Kimball. She is a passion-driven entrepreneur, who runs two passion-based businesses. I am excited to share her story as the first one of my Passion-Driven Entrepreneurship - The Journey series. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy part 1 of the interview. I'm excited to introduce you to my new video series entitled Passion-Driven Entrepreneurship- The Journey! Each month I will be sharing an interview with one inspiring passion-driven entrepreneur. The first interview will air next Friday, September 13th both here and on my counseling blog. Watch the video below to learn more about what's in store. I have always been a "do it yourself" type of person. My hair was actually my first creative adventure. Do you remember the Care Bears? Well, I use to have one of the Care Bear cousins, Brave Heart Lion. I actually learned how to braid my own hair, by braiding his! I know that may sound silly, but that was just one of many ways I have expressed my creativity over the years. In the spirit of this, I've been exploring different ways to add my artwork to different products. There are several wonderful sites that allow you to do this and I actually signed-up for one. That said, after I added a couple of items to my new store, I noticed that something just felt wrong to me. I was surprised by this, and wasn't sure what to make of it at first. What I have learned, however, is to trust my gut. Instead of ignoring this feeling I allowed myself to explore it. What I came back to, what has always been true for me, is that if I can make it myself, I need to. For me, at least in that particular way, it just wasn't right. What has come out of this over this weekend is my latest product, the magnet!!! Don't we all need to stick things to our refrigerators from time to time? Reminder notes, calendars, our kids artwork. I thought, why can't our magnets be art too! So I made some, and I must say, I love them! Check them out and tell me what you think. These magnets are incredibly affordable and there are only a limited number right now. If you click on the pictures above you will be taken straight to the store where you can purchase one, see more pictures, and find out more about them.
I'm looking forward to making more magnets and finding new objects to put my artwork on! If you have ideas for what you would like to see my artwork on, please share in the comments below. Also, if you are an artist and you have found great DIY ways to add your artwork to different products I would love to hear about it. Keep creating! |
