If you have been following my creative journey, I'm sure you can tell that I like to try different things. This curiosity is something that both interests me and frustrates me as it can make it difficult to focus and complete tasks.
Part of what I'm working on is to have a more defined artistic voice. As I look at and am inspired by other artists, the ones whose work has the most draw for me are the ones who have a consistent look to their work. I know that in order to become good at anything you have to practice, practice, practice, and that is what I see in these artists. That and a lot of love for their craft.
Recently I have discovered the work of an artist whose work I absolutely LOVE named Cori Dantini. She has developed this beautiful style that is quite unique. Her work is whimsical and fun, but also has a vintage feel. I love earth tones and she just creates the most beautiful color combinations.
The 29 faces challenge was a great springboard for me in my creative process. One of the things I discovered was my enjoyment of doodling and pattern work. Discovering Cori, inspired me to stretch myself further. As a result I created this piece.

I tried to see if I could get a similar vintage feel but put my own spin on it. I really love how she turned out! I really enjoyed the combination of the watercolor pencils with the pen work. Something about that just resonated with me, so I followed it and created this next piece.
You know how I love my black and grey and pink hair is just fun! I did some more doodling and pattern work on this one. I just love her!
I'm starting to think that I may just be an artist who has more than one style. Who knows what I'll become curious about next!
Let me know what you think? Of the different styles you've seen from me is there one that's your favorite or that you would like to see more of?
Oh yes, and both are available as prints for $20 each. Just email me if you're interested! Please also check-out Cori Dantini's website. I emailed her and shared the first piece because it was inspired by her, and she was very gracious and lovely in her response to me.
Keep Creating!
