Hello everyone!! I know haven't posted here in awhile and I'm sorry. That's because I am in the process of moving & redesigning my website. While this process is going on, the best place to find me and to keep up with what's going on is to follow me on Instagram @kmmsart. I post there a few times a week. You can also follow me on Twitter. Also, my store is currently closed as I'm working to reorganize it I plan to reopen it in the next couple of weeks so I'll let you know as soon as I do! I'm super excited about this show as the community is very warm and welcoming and the vendors are super talented. As you are gearing-up for your holiday shopping, I encourage you to come out. It's a great way to support local artists and the community and to find wonderful and unique gifts for your friends and family. Here are the details: Novemberfest! Also, if you'd like to see what I'm up to, please follow me on Instagram as I share here the most regularly. That's all for now and always remember to keep creating :) Hello and happy Friday everyone! I can't believe it's already August can you?! I'm super excited about the work I've been making this week. I'm not sure if I had mentioned in an earlier post or not that I have been working more with watercolors, but this week something switched for me. For awhile now I've been feeling this pull to simplify my creative process, less materials, less density, more light. Watercolors seem to capture this really well and I've been trying to "figure out" watercolors for awhile now. I've primarily worked with Peerless Watercolors (which I love) as I feel I am able to control the paint more (yes I have some control issues! lol). Needless to say, I was shocked to find myself absolutely loving wet-on-wet technique after watching this youtube video! I'm really grateful to thefrugalcrafter and her generosity in sharing her creative process. Needless to say I could NOT stop painting. Just playing with dropping color into water. I find it completely fascinating. Here are just a few of the creations that resulted. These are just a few of several fun abstract flower bookmarks that I created. You can check-out my Facebook page if you would like to see the rest of them.
I am also excited to share that I now have Instagram & Twitter accounts (thanks to a wonderful friend who set it up for me)! I want to encourage you to come and visit me there as this is where I will be posting most of my updates for awhile. That's all for now! Always remember to keep creating. Hello everyone! I'm excited to share that I'm having a sale... off of EVERYTHING in my Zibbet shop. Yay! Everything must go. I'm making space to add some new artwork that's going in a more specific direction. I'm very excited about this transition as I have more of a sense of who I am as and artist and how I like to create. My goal is create work that is more cohesive and expresses a more clear message. If there was a piece you have been thinking about getting but were on the fence, now is the time. The sale will run through the end of August, but after that, everything you see in the store will be gone and no longer available for purchase. You can find by birchwood girls & illustrated journals for sale on my Facebook Page. I've been having so much fun with these pieces and I'm excited to create more work like this. Thank you for sharing in this journey with me and I hope you have been enjoying what you see!
Have a wonderful weekend and always remember to keep creating :) Happy Independence Day everyone! I wanted to share a little painting. Have a wonderful and safe holiday!
Happy Friday everyone! Just stopping by to share a new illustration. I'm continue to find my work moving into new direction. I hadn't used my color pencils in awhile so she's colored using my prismacolors and then pen and ink for the black and white details on kraft paper. I'd love to hear what you think. You can find her as a phone case cover or skin as well as a print in my Society6 shop. Have a great weekend all and don't forget to keep creating! Linking to Paint Party Friday
Hello and happy Friday everyone! I just wanted to share a few in progress pictures of some art journaling I did recently. This page was inspired by one of my favorite artists Cori Dantini. A little collage, a little watercolor, and a little pen and ink. Let me know what you think!
Always remember to keep creating! Hi Everyone! I can't believe it's been a month since my last post. It's amazing how time is moving so quickly. I wanted to stop in and share that I've been busy working away on several projects. One of which is teaching myself HTML5 & CSS3 to redesign all of my websites. It's a big project, but I'm having lots of fun. I've also been finding pockets of time to create and have been finding myself increasingly drawn towards simplicity & space. I'm really trying to figure out how to incorporate this into all aspects of my life including my art. To that end, I created some artwork just for my new Society6 shop! It's been very exciting to see what I can create with just craft paper, black and white pens, and color pencils. One of the things the shop allows me to do is put my artwork on phone cases, which I'm very excited about. I think it's a great way to take your artwork with you.
